THAMES VALLEY REGION NEWSLETTER

JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2019

Happy New Year to you all!

A reminder that our meetings are on the last Wednesday of the month at The Crooked Billet, London Road, Hook, Hants, RG27 9EH from 8pm. All members are very welcome, you don’t have to own a Mini Cooper – any mini will do! It doesn’t matter if you turn up without your mini either….just come along for a drink and a chat with other members. If you have any technical queries about your minis then there is bound to be somebody at the meeting who can help you.

NEXT MEETING – 30th January

SEE YOU THERE!

Looking forward to our club stand at Brooklands Mini Day 24th March 2019 and hoping that the weather is reasonably kind to us on the day. If you would like to display your car please contact Ken Hunter: kenneth.hunter1@btinternet.com

“All types of Mini (including the modern BMW) are invited to this annual event, so expect displays in all areas of the Museum site. From the oldest to the newest, this year’s event will see some of the earliest examples nestling among hundreds of Minis and their variations including vans and pickups. As always Test Hill will be in action (subject to weather).
There will be a variety of trade stands offering mini parts, spares and memorabilia.”

Did you attend the Brooklands Classic Car New year’s Day Event? https://www.brooklandsmuseum.com/whats-on/new-years-day-classic-gathering
“Everybody – whether driving a “Classic” or not – was welcome to the largest New Year’s Day Classic Gathering in the UK. “
The weather was good and it certainly showed in the attendance numbers…possibly a record event.

It’s nearly here!…the Hinton Firs weekend in Bournemouth, 25th to 29th January 2019. We are really looking forward to this social event and it will be the 37th consecutive year! For more information contact Josh Bromage j-bromage@outlook.com

Plans are going ahead for our display of Thames Valley Region cars at the Classic Car Rally at the Popham Airfield on the 6th May 2019. If you would like to join in then please contact Ken Hunter. Classic shape Minis only.

We are looking to put on a display of 60 cars to cover the entire range of Mini production models spanning 1959 – 2000. If you are interested, please email your details with a description of your car to John Parnell: minisixty2019@talktalk.net
